On Wednesday, the Syrian Human Rights Network released a report on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the Syrian revolution in which it documented the most evident human rights violations from March 2011 to March 2018.
The report documented the death of 217,764 civilians, including 27,296 children and 14,028 women. According to the report, the Syrian-Russian alliance is responsible for 92.5 percent of the total number of deaths compared to other parties.
It pointed out that there are 104,029 people still under arbitrary arrest or enforced disappearance in the official and unofficial detention centers of the Syrian regime from March 2011 until March 2018.
According to the report, Kurdish self-government forces have carried out arbitrary arrests and enforced disappearances in areas under their control and have arrested at least 2,419 people since it was established until March 2018.
The report pointed out that extremist Islamic groups, especially ISIS, implemented the policy of arbitrary arrest and enforced disappearance of civilians in areas under its control. At least 8,119 people have been arrested since it was established until March 2018. The Sham Liberation Organization has at least arrested 1,688 people until March 2018.
It pointed out that factions in the armed opposition have carried out arrests of civilians after the storming of areas under the control of the Syrian regime’s forces, and that there are 2574 people still in arbitrary detention in the prisons of the armed opposition until 2018.
The report mentioned that the Syrian regime forces have used various ways and methods of torture against all their detainees, with the death of 13029 people due to torture in the regime’s prisons from March 2011 until 2018.
There is a total of 52 torture victims in the prisons of extremist Islamic groups, 21 of them were killed by the Tahrir al-Sham and 31 of them were killed by ISIS. There is also a total of 34 torture victims by all armed opposition factions. In addition, at least 29 people have been killed as a result of torture by the Kurdish self-administration forces.
