Thousands of Civilians in Rastan Waiting for the Entry of Aid

Reports | 2 11 2016

The Russian and Syrian military operations have obstructed the entry of 64 humanitarian aid trucks to the city of Rastan -northern countryside of Homs- that was supposed to enter the city on 26 of last month.

Only one humanitarian truck suffices more than 350.000 people, enters the city every 50 days. The outstanding convoy contains flour, food, medical supplies, schools’ accessories for kids, maintenance equipment for digging wells for having drinking water, and all these materials are needed by the people of Rastan months ago.

Mehran Taha, Rozana reporter from the city, stated that the military adviser to the delegation of the United Nations, Colonel Amir Nada, who was accompanying the convoy, said they coordinated with the Syrian regime forces and the Russians for entering the aid, but the heavy and sustained shelling by the Russian and regime warplane that is targeting most cities and towns of the northern countryside of Homs, prevented the entry of UN delegation to the city for fear of shelling.

"Faisal attribution" -The head of the local council in Rastan-  blamed Russia and the Syrian regime for blocking the entry of humanitarian aid to the besieged areas.
