More than two-thirds of “Maarat al-Numan” in Idlib countryside is almost entirely devastating due to the bombing and battles during 3 years, and after the control of the opposition forces; the majority of the population returned to their homes.
The poor living conditions imposed inventing things commensurate with the situation (Necessity is the mother of invention), and several workshops worked on the rehabilitation of houses from the ruins of the destroyed buildings. One of these workshops is Abu Ali’s. "Abu Ali", who decided to extract the iron from the ruins of the houses, and rehabilitating it using his simple tools. As his original profession is in construction workshops.
The idea of Abu Ali became very popular in Marat al-Numan, where he reforms the iron in his workshop in order to make it usable in building again.
One of the beneficiaries of the workshop, Mahmoud Daher, who returned to the city of Maaret al-Numan after the opposition forces controlled, and re-renovated his house with iron, which he extracted from his destroyed house, due to the fact that he is poor and can’t buy the new iron.
The idea of Abu Ali also become rife among the unemployed. As many young men in Maarat al-Numan began working in reforming the iron of extracted from the destroyed buildings, and reconstruction.
