The door to participate in the Scandinavian Film Festival, to be held next September, is still open.
The Syrian director Ghatfan Ghanoom’s film “Moon in the Skype " won the grand prize, it was about the Syrian’s migration, as the best documentary at the Hollywood Film Festival for the global independent documentaries.
About the film, (Moon in the Skype), Ghanoom said in a telephone interview with Rozana on Sunday, "I chose a simple documentarian and narrative scenes for cases of several people about their trip to Europe, as well as from inside Syria."
He added, "I dealt with the Syrian tragedy as a backdrop for the film and the major Causative of immigration, which is a part of the great tragedy the Syrian people suffer from" noting that "the tragedy source is the violence suffered by the Syrian people from the Syrian regime mainly."
And about the difficulties of participating in the festival, he said: "you can’t participate without achieving the technical condition and value of the work of art and thus the Syrian situation will not be sufficient to pass the film."
He pointed out that "the winning film was rejected in other festivals," adding that "There is an illusion experienced by young cinematographers, because of fearing that they would not satisfy the technical and productivity conditions while there are so many ways to overcome these obstacles."
In another context, he pointed out that "the door to participate in the Scandinavian Film Festival is still open until now," explaining that "the technical requirements of participating is to achieve high-resolution image HD".
Ghanoom occupies the position of director of the Scandinavian Film Festival to be held from the 7th of next September until the 12th of the same month.
It is worth noting, that Ghanoom was born in Homs in 1976, and he is a member of the union of filmmakers in the State of Finland, he also participated in local and international festivals, as well as having articles in the local and Arab patrols.
