Oil Minister in the Syrian interim government previously Elias Rose: "we had money only to buy falafel sandwiches for three days."
Former oil minister in the Syrian interim government, Elias Warda, said in an exclusive interview with Rozana, on the similarities between the events of Hama and the Syrian revolution, which began five years ago, adding that "the revolution should conquers in the beginning so we could start building the Syrian state."
He added, "Yet there is no bank account of the Syrian revolution for donations, for anyone who wants to donate from all over the world, unlike any disaster happens on Earth," explaining that "the opposition should organize special committees outside Syria contributions, at least better than begging of all nations always.”
The former minister said that "the politicians who came to the political opposition came against the backdrop that politics is hypocrisy and lies and deception, so we failed so far” he added :”at the beginning we demanded to form an armed arm in order to maintain, secure and protect the peaceful revolution."
About the Syrian National Council and the Coalition, he said: "In the beginning the Revolution welcomed them, but with time and when it was clear that there is no effect for them; they have been discarded by the Syrian interior, as they have not change except the faces and numbers of the members, where the number of the members shrunk to 120 only, while the event has never changed on the Syrian political arena.”
He said: "the temporary Syrian government has two tasks, namely to restore hope to the Syrian people that their daily services will be insured, and demonstrate proficiency to manage the country in institutionalized way" noting that "the independence of the political decision-making is an important point to resolve the Syrian, this needs financial independence, and this is what failed the political opposition.”
He added: “a central information office should be created for the Syrian opposition that can create political lobbies for the benefit of the Syrian people, and not for the benefit of certain political parties."
Dr. Elias confirmed that "the elite Syrian intellectuals have failed in the Syrian situation, due to the absence of the thought of teamwork as an elite who lived abroad for a long time failed, due to failure to integrate communities that they have moved to” adding, "It was clear that the Syrian regime will not be allowed the progress of the Syrian society, and even after the coming of Bashar Assad."
He concluded his speech saying: "We must offer to our nation and not wait to give us a home, and that's what prompted me to enter the interim government, and on this basis I have accepted the position of Minister of Energy, The perception was to secure a permanent income for the revolution through the intake of Syrian oil, when ISIL was not yet in control of the oil fields.”
