Many Syrian mothers Played an important roles during the war, as she was the mother, father, sister, wife and the breadwinner, and they didn’t stop at that point, but most of the Syrian mothers could achieve the balance between work and raising their children.
Um Mohamed, from Daraa, southern Syria, has been working in a field hospital since two years and supporting her family, after her husband was killed during the war.
For Nada who works as a teacher in one of Daraa’s schools, and whose husband was arrested since three years by the Syrian regime, she said: “in these circumstances, I face many difficulties in obtaining milk and bread for my children, besides, I have to leave my children at home alone to go to my work, and when the shelling start I worry a lot about their safety.” And she confirms that she didn’t give up despite all the bad conditions.
In Daraa, southern Syria, which is affiliated with the opposition, women suffer bad conditions, even though that didn’t stop them from learning a profession.
Some old professions came back to the façade, because of the lack of hospitals, like midwifery, which is a difficult profession in the current circumstances, but Samar stick to it, to help the pregnant women.
