Syrian activists are trying to reveal the identity of those who are accused of war crimes or crimes against humanity in Syria, but how?
They publish the pictures of those accused with their weapons in Syria, and then a picture of their whereabouts in the country of asylum, with mentioning the type of the crimes committed by them, and then they ask the Syrians to report them.
Is it enough to publish photographs of the suspects to be condemned?
Who can Report criminals? What is the correct way to report them?
How do the European authorities deal with this situation?
"The work of Syrian activists in their attempts to expose the defendants is very important but not enough, European laws describes the accused, punishment, terms of the indictment and the conditions of the trials." the Syrian lawyer Anwar al-Bunni says.
Swedish police have arrested a man on suspicion of committing war crimes in Syria. Before that there was a picture of him as he stood over the bodies on a face book page named "criminals, not a group of refugees". According to the Swedish site “Combs”, the defendant said in his defense that he was did not kill, he only took pictures. And Sweden has prosecuted a Syrian refugee for committing war crimes.
Dutch authorities have revealed the presence of 20 Syrian refugees accused of war crimes in Syria, according to the Bulletin of the Department of naturalization and immigration. But it was only one refugee who was arrested.
Germany, in turn scrutinizes the procedures, because of many notifications by agents and activists about the arrival of a large number of Syrian war criminals to it.
"Europe is unable to act in terms of trials, because the national law of any country interfere just if the offender and the victim hold the nationality of that country, or if the offense is committed in its territory, or if it offended the national security, under these circumstances, the crimes that occur in Syria, do not fall under the jurisdiction of the national law of any country, " says the lawyer.
