The Syrian media activist and photographer (Fuad Hallak) won the platinum award for his film “Backstage”, in the Filmmakers World Festival.
He said in a telephone interview, that his film shows the figures who are not highlighted, choosing the figure of the photographer Zakaria, who injured during the performance of his job as a press photographer for French News Agency (FNA), besides being a field medic.
He added: “it’s a necessary to focus on a figure which has developed with the development of events in Aleppo in the midst of this ongoing war, like Zakaria, because most of the media channels deal with war as only a war, without searching for backgrounds.
Hallak noted that “his film has been filmed and produced by a smart phone”, after practicing on this technology in a workshop in Turkey, and he added: “many parties rejected my film, and others took it and crowned it”.
Fuad was born in Aleppo on 1989, and holds a high school diploma; he is field activist and an independent photographer, worked in documenting the Syrian revolution events, in addition to his work in a medical team in Bostan Qaser in the city of Aleppo.
