The cost of Russian military operations in Syria is steadily rising day after day; at a time when the Russian economy is shrinking due to international sanctions, and the falling oil prices globally.
According to Anatolia agency, the cost to Russia of its air strikes and its military mobilization in Syria, reaches between 2.4 and 4 million dollars a day. It is believed that 90 minutes of Russian fighter sorties—and 60 minutes, for helicopters—has risen to 710 thousand dollars.
The agency also said that Russian warplanes dispatch a daily payload of bombs and shells, estimated to cost circa 750 thousand dollars; while the daily logistic expenditures for nearly 1,500 Russian soldiers in Syria, amounts 440 thousand dollars.
The daily cost of the units located at the Syrian base in Tartus base on the Mediterranean, as well as the Caspian Sea base, an estimated 200 thousand dollars. The cost to Russia of daily intelligence, communications, and other logistics in Syria is expected to rise to 250 thousand dollars.
