How Al-Houla Residents Get Drinking Water?

Reports | 25 05 2020

The great outage in drinking water has caused difficult conditions in Al-Houla in northern rural Homs, the regime forces that are besieging the area have cut the water, and they allow pumping water into homes in a one hour a day, the forces control 4 main wells outside the town.

“we have to get water from a one well in the town, and that is not enough,” a resident says to Rozana, he is indicating that difficulty goes further, the way towards the well is too dangerous, because the regime forces target us if they spot us there.

Around 70 thousand civilians are facing thirsty in Al-Houla, but they tried to create new means to get water, some of them made trunks drawn by trucks to transfer water.

Despite the multiple projects that many opposition civil institutions and the local council have made, but these projects are not completed yet.

The residents are complaining that the civil institutions don’t perform their duties, one of the residents say “the local council doesn’t perform anything, but dealing with the only pump that is being used in the well.”
