When Bidding Farewell to Wladimir.. Syrians Meet Best Friends

Reports | 25 05 2020

Crowd of people gathered in a church in the city of Paris on Tuesday, September 8th to bid farewell to the former French diplomat Wladimir Glasman who dedicated his life during his delegation period in Damascus and during the last years in Paris to assert Syrians right to get freedom.

French ambassadors, Syrian opponents, former prisoners, senior professors, French and Arab researchers and a group of journalists and activists, all of them were filled with sorrow.

Every one of them had personal memories with Wladimir, there is a former French ambassador who was completely dependent on Wladimir’s good knowledge in the Syrian society, and his various contacts in the social, political and cultural mediums, but in the past he didn’t know what some Syrian opponents would reveal in the church about their secret relation with Wladimir when he harbored and protected them, and sometimes he helped them to get asylum in France after their release from prison.

Every one of the journalists and researchers remembered what they got from Wladimir’s writings and the special information that he provided on his blog on Le Monde website that is called “Eye on Syria”.

He was providing the best information to French journalists about the Syrian situation, and he was providing Syrians with best tips to deal with public opinion and the French decision makers.

Wladimir has always been by the Syrian revolution, he has been so confident that Syrians can succeed against all odds, despite his illness he didn’t miss any chance to participate in demonstrations and lectures concerning the Syrian revolution in Paris, in less than 24 hours after his death, his wife and son attended a gathering in front of Eiffel Tower in the second anniversary of Ghouta chemical massacre on August 21st this year.

In the church we have seen Syrian Christians praying and some French were not praying and headscarved girls were reading Alfatiha in their hearts on his soul.

This is love that Wladimir wanted through his attitude towards the Syrian revolution.
