Infografic: Mortars became part of the Syrians Diary

Several areas in Syria have become exposed to mortar shells, to the extent that these shells have become a daily concerns of all Syrians—particularly in the city of Damascus, which has become a major target of these shells, which have caused many civilian casualties, including schoolchildren.

Mortars are considered an un-smart weapon, relying on indiscriminate shelling. It requires nothing more complex than a launching platform, and their trajectory can be traced by a simple map.

Opposition factions are largely responsible for firing shells at areas of Damascus, as well as the neighborhoods under the regime's control in both Aleppo and Homs.
