Despite two years passing after the entire population of the villages of Western Maliha, Katibeh, Khirbet Ghazaleh, and Namir being displaced; yet the opposition National Coalition, has failed to date to officially recognize them as disaster zones.

Some of the population of these villages chose to take refuge in the neighboring towns of the Daraa countryside; with half of them opting to resort to cities and camps in neighboring Jordan.

Refugee Abu Karam al-Hariri of the town Namir confirms that he will not be able to return to his hometown even if the conflict in Syria ends; their homes were completely looted and destroyed by the Syrian regime forces.

Mohammed Qaddah, a member of the National Coalition, tells Rozana "At the time these people were displaced, there was nothing that could be provided to these villages and towns. Therefore, the Coalition did not recognize them as disaster zones. At the present time, however, all of Syria is considered a disaster zone."
