A Cultural Center providing Health Services in Tal Tamr!

Reports | 25 05 2020

"My son is suffering from chronic chest infections. We must permanently supply him with medication." With these words, Umm Ali makes her appeal to provide medication for her son, after she left her village "Gabeshh" in the Hassaka countryside and sought refuge in the north of Tal Tamr, to escape ISIS.

Umm Ali's suffering is far from unique in these villages; most of those displaced are suffering there due to the lack of a medical center providing them with adequate carewith the continuing clashes in Tal Tamr, between ISIS and the Kurdish People Protection Units.

A cultural center in Ras Al Ayn [Serê Kanîyê] has launched several campaigns for the distribution of medication and treatment in these villages through volunteer efforts. It has, according one of the campaign's administrators, however not been able to meet all the needs.

The medical team contributing to the campaign has toured most of the villages around Tal Tamr and to the north; treated 500 medical conditions it had encountered; as well as distributed medication them based on availabilty. There, however, is a need for a fixed health center here, in the northern villages. This would be the proper solution, according to Dr. Sakhr Mohammed, a contributor to the campaign.
