Dima al-Sayd - Istanbul Their eyes are full of sorrow and longing for distant memories. They talk about their toys, their friends. They talk about things that might seem trivial, but for them it is the homeland they left behind to start, along with their families, the agonizing journey of bitterness and homelessness. Tala, 5 year old, told us that she want to return to Syria to see her friends who speak Arabic. Rami, on the other hand, plays the role of the adult while telling us -in classical Arabic!- the truth as it is in his little mind: "Either a foreign intervention resolves the Syrian crisis, or things would remain as they are now. I wish to return to Syria to live to my home." Mohammed also dreams of going home to Syria to rebuild his war-torn country, "I want to see my friends to complete the journey together ." Children of Syria are left alone to face a horrifying reality of starvation, homelessness, and death. We have to wonder what future awaits this lost generation?! *You can listen to the story in Arabic
