rozanaRozana, in collaboration with leading voices in the Syrian independent media sector, is launching efforts to establish a professional consortium aimed at ensuring long-term viability and sustainability for Syrian independent media organizations.
Rozana is looking for a Governance and Operational consultant, who will establish robust governance and operational foundations for a consortium of Syrian independent media organizations. This framework will serve as the backbone of the consortium, and includes establishing clear governance structures, agreements, and ethical standards that define how the consortium operates, makes decisions, and holds its members accountable.
Alongside governance structures, a comprehensive operational framework will be established to facilitate effective collaboration among consortium members. This includes developing internal processes, protocols, and policies that promote transparency and ensure smooth, efficient operations.
Requested Services
- Conduct and facilitate a series of thematic workshops and meetings with consortium member focal points and project leads; focused on consortium governance and operational frameworks.
- In consultation with consortium focal points, draft necessary documents, policies, procedures, agreements and protocols to establish the governance and operational framework of the consortium.
- Establish minimum governance and compliance standards for consortium members and future downstream partners.
Deliverables:
A comprehensive governance structure and operational framework for the consortium, detailed in policies, protocols, procedures, and agreement drafts.
Final consultant report.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Proven experience in organizational development, with a focus on governance, compliance, and operational frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience working with consortia, networks, or similar collaborative structures, preferably in the media, civil society, or nonprofit sectors in the Middle East.
- Advanced degree in organizational development, business administration, public administration, international development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of governance structures, compliance requirements, and operational frameworks within multi-stakeholder organizations.
- Proficiency in drafting policies, protocols, agreements, and other organizational documentation.
- Excellent facilitation skills, with experience conducting workshops and consultations involving diverse stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the challenges and operational contexts of independent media organizations, particularly in the Syrian context or similar environments.
