Rozana Media Development Center (RMD) organised a training workshop on editorial guidelines and sources of news in coordination with Stabilization Support Unit in the Syrian interior (SSU) from 14-17 December with the participation of 10 citizen journalists.
The training presented by the editor-in-chief of Radio Rozana to Loujain Haj Youssef, aimed at developing the trainees' skills of writing the news and verifying its sources, in addition to familiarizing them with types and styles of news and editorial processes, its components, perspectives, and gender considerations in news writing.
The training also covered international journalistic charters of writing news and methods of verifying sources and fake news.
The training was carried out online due to exceptional circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic worldwide and in Syria particularly.
This training comes within the framework of the Journalistic / Media Development Project launched by the SSU, which aims at providing support and upgrading the expertise of the workers in this field.
Rozana Media Development Center provides with the help of its professional trainers training services to institutions and individuals alike, and to journalists and institutions in Syria or North Africa, Yemen, Libya and Iraq, in cooperation with leading Arab and international organizations that support free media in the Arab World.
