Iyad Amasha writes on his Facebook page: of a radio listener in France, who contacted Radio Damascus. "The anchorwoman demanded the callera Frenchman, who identified himself as being pro-reform under "Mr. President [Bashar al-Assad]"to put pressure on the so-called democratic French government [said with the utmost irony!] to make Arabic language an official part of the curriculum in French schools where he children of Arab communities are enrolled."

Iyad then adds, "As an aside, a Kurdish friends in my university dorms in Damascus once told me of a Kurdish poet, who dared to read a poem in Kurdish language during a private evening with his dorm friends; only to wake up next morning to dawn visitors from the university security branch. He was dragged to the University security detachment premises for a few days, and returned severely bruised, after much beating and abuse, at the hands of the "So you want freedom?" gang."

Fouad Salameh, on the other hand, ties the subject of ISIS to the Syrian regime. On his page, he writes "In order to understand the ISIS era, we must ponder the victims pictures coming from Syria. Thousands of images that embody the Syrian Holocaust... Horrific images of death every day, and every moment.. Photos of the shattered bodies of Syria's children, women, and men whom Assad burns so as to remains the master atop his throne of skulls... This truly is the story that is not being told."
